Transit Stop ChicagoContact

Privacy Policy

Effective October 3, 2026

This policy explains how Kramer Concepts, LLC (“Kramer Concepts,” “we,” or “us”) handles information when you use the Transit Stop Chicago iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch app or visit this website. The app helps people find Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus and train information. It does not require you to create an account with Kramer Concepts.

Location

If you allow location access, the app uses your device’s location to show your position on the map, find or sort nearby stops, and provide walking-distance estimates. Location access is optional; you can search for stops without it. The app does not include your precise GPS coordinates in its custom analytics events or send them to Kramer Concepts’ own servers. Apple’s operating-system and map services may process information as described in Apple’s privacy policy.

Transit information and network requests

When you look up arrivals, routes, stops, or vehicle locations, the app sends the relevant transit request to CTA’s bus and train data services. This can include the selected stop, route, or station identifiers. CTA and network service providers may receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and request time, as part of handling those requests. Live arrival requests are made directly to CTA. Depending on the app version and what data is already saved on your device, the app may download static train route, pattern, or station catalog data from a Kramer Concepts web service and save it locally. Kramer Concepts’ server may receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address and request time, but these catalog requests do not include your precise location or account details. The app may also contact a Kramer Concepts service for a basic CTA service-health status after a suspicious or failed live response; that check does not include your location or account details.

Information stored on your device and in iCloud

The app stores settings, favorites, recent stops, and a small local profile of stops you use so it can restore your choices and make the app more useful. Some settings and the recent-stop profile can sync through Apple’s iCloud services when iCloud is available. Favorites and settings may also be shared with your Apple Watch through Apple’s WatchConnectivity and private iCloud services. This information is associated with your Apple account and is handled under Apple’s terms and privacy practices; Kramer Concepts does not receive your iCloud account password. You can manage iCloud and app location permissions in your Apple device settings. Favorites can be removed in the app.

Analytics

The app uses Firebase Analytics to understand app reliability and feature use. Events can include the device type (iPhone, iPad, or Watch), which app feature was used, broad time-of-day categories, transit service, stop and route identifiers, and whether a request or ad loaded or failed. Searches are measured by action and length, but the text you type into a search is not included in these custom events. Custom events do not include precise GPS coordinates, full request URLs, API keys, or advertising identifiers. Firebase may also collect technical, device, and app-interaction information through its SDK. Google’s handling of information is described in its Privacy Policy.

Advertising

The free version of Transit Stop displays ads using AppLovin MAX and participating advertising services, which may include Google ad services. Depending on your iOS tracking choice, location, and the services participating in a particular ad request, ad providers may process device and advertising identifiers, IP address, device and app information, approximate location, and ad interactions to select, deliver, measure, and protect ads. iOS asks whether the app may track you across other companies’ apps and websites. You can change that choice in iOS Settings; declining tracking does not necessarily stop all ad measurement or remove contextual ads. AppLovin and Google describe their practices in their privacy policy and advertising privacy information. The app also offers an in-app purchase to remove ads; Apple processes purchases, and Kramer Concepts does not receive your payment-card details.

This website

This site is a static information and app-promotion website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It does not use Kramer Concepts advertising cookies or an embedded web analytics tracker. Cloudflare may process technical request information, such as IP address and browser details, to deliver and protect the site, as explained in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Links to the App Store and other external services are governed by those providers’ policies.

Choices and requests

You can control app location access and iOS tracking permission in your device’s Settings. You can remove favorites in the app and manage iCloud data through Apple. To ask a question or make a privacy request about information handled by Kramer Concepts, email [email protected]. Information held by CTA, Apple, Google, AppLovin, or other ad providers must be addressed with those providers using their privacy tools and policies.

Changes

We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.

Transit Stop is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the CTA. Transit arrival estimates are provided by CTA data services.
